Purpose

«SmaBur 50» lubricating agent is used for improving lubricating properties of drilling muds, reducing abrasive and fatigue wear of operating tools material, decrease probability of drilling constructions sticking, prolongation of drilling equipment lifetime.

Composition

«SmaBur 50» is a balanced composition of alkyloxycarboxylic acids, anionic and nonionic surfactants in olefin series solvent. «SmaBur 50» is a dark-coloured liquid with low opalescence, 35 to 50 cSt viscosity, density of 0.83-0.87 g/cm³ at 20^oC, pour point below -12^oC, flash point in closed cup above 70^oC.

Application

Lubricating agent is applied at 0.3-1% mass concentration in drilling mud (the optimal concentration being 0.5%). Lubricant is well distributed in fresh and mineralized water and is suitable for all kind of drilling fluids. Being effective in reducing friction, «SmaBur 50» does not cause foam formation and rheology deterioration.

Achieved friction factor values are 75% for clay drilling muds and 57% for biopolymer drilling muds (initial friction factor taken as 100%).
